New Technology in the Media Center!

The technology retrofit at Starling continues.  (Your SPLOST pennies at work.) We have a completely new hardware and software system for our morning show broadcast room.  (I'm still learning how to use it!)  The best news there is that I can record the shows with the green screen backgrounds and everything now.  They look more professional since we can use new microphones and teleprompters as well.  I'll continue to post random shows on our Youtube channel (link to the right).

This broadcast room retrofit includes new digital still and video cameras for students and staff to use as well as for special events.  I'm also learning the new editing software.

We also received a fancy Polycom video conferencing set up.  One of our 4th grade teachers is already setting up a video conference between her class and NASA!

Above you see a photo of out new interactive touch screen display.  It's already being used to help teachers show students where to find things on their e-class pages and other resources.  I'm sure we'll come up with many cool uses for it in the the weeks to come.

For some reason, one of our middle school visitors decided to use it to declare his love of pie.  I was okay with that.

Mmmm...pie.

PS  The Book Fair was a success!  Any special orders should be in very soon and delivered to your student.  Let me know if you have any questions and we'll see you at the next one in the Spring. Thank you so much for supporting our media center.
